Strong Boards and Risk-taking in Islamic Banks

چکیده

This paper examines whether variations in strong boards explain the differences between risk-taking Islamic and conventional banks. From an analysis of a pooled sample banks, we find that general serve their shareholders through engaging higher activities across both types In however, Shari’ah Supervisory Board (SSB) is found to mitigate when integrated with board, as religiosity restrains risk-taking.
